The Team Manager – BXCI Asset Allocation & Portfolio Analytics will support Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholders in managing portfolio analytics, investment data quality, reporting processes, and operational improvements for insurance client portfolios.
The role involves overseeing recurring portfolio management deliverables, reviewing team output, developing scalable reporting solutions, and collaborating with Operations, Compliance, Technology, Risk and Analytics, and investment teams. The successful candidate will help strengthen reporting accuracy, improve operational efficiency, and support informed portfolio management and capital allocation decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management and Delivery Oversight
- Lead the team-based delivery of Asset Allocation and Portfolio Analytics activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of recurring deliverables.
- Monitor team workloads, prioritize deliverables, and manage competing deadlines.
- Review team members’ work before submission to stakeholders.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, encourage accountability, and promote continuous process improvement.
2. Portfolio Analytics and Data Quality
- Perform and review portfolio data quality checks across internal systems and reporting sources.
- Validate trade economics, funding activity, portfolio exposures, investment data, ratings, and other critical portfolio inputs.
- Reconcile and interpret large datasets to identify discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy.
- Analyze asset allocation, portfolio statistics, performance metrics, ratings distributions, funding trends, and exposure movements.
3. Portfolio Monitoring and Investment Workflows
- Maintain portfolio monitoring processes, including deployment tracking, transaction pipeline reporting, and funding updates.
- Review investment guidelines, client conflict-check workflows, seasoning requirements, and issuer and client rating updates.
- Track upcoming transactions and funding requirements.
- Communicate material changes to Portfolio Managers and relevant stakeholders to support capital allocation decisions.
4. Investment Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare, review, and manage monthly and quarterly portfolio reports.
- Develop portfolio snapshots, portfolio reviews, watchlists, KPI reports, rating dashboards, and investment committee materials.
- Prepare accurate, professional, client-ready reporting packs and presentations.
- Circulate pipeline updates, funding reports, and other agreed deliverables to Portfolio Managers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Translate complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights.
5. Reporting Automation and Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, workflow trackers, and automation solutions.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase transparency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Strengthen controls and governance across portfolio management and reporting workflows.
- Collaborate with technology and analytics teams to improve data handling and reporting processes.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Special Projects
- Partner with Portfolio Managers, technology teams, Operations, Compliance, Risk and Analytics, and investment teams.
- Coordinate with insurance analysts and other stakeholders on portfolio-related requirements.
- Manage ad hoc analysis, management reporting, and special projects requested by senior management and Asset Allocation stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

- Professional experience: 8–10 years of relevant experience in asset management, portfolio analytics, investment operations, financial services, consulting, banking, insurance asset management, or a related field.
- Investment knowledge: Strong understanding of portfolio analytics, fixed income markets, private credit, insurance investment concepts, investment reporting, and asset allocation workflows.
- Analytical skills: Ability to manage, reconcile, validate, and interpret large datasets across multiple systems and reporting sources.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: Ability to perform structured analysis, manage complex datasets, and develop reliable reporting outputs.
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Experience preparing polished, client-ready presentations and communicating complex financial information effectively.
